In addition to the generally known rules of make-up, there are some tricks related to the maintenance of these beauty products, which will make them last longer and be more efficient.

Did you know that it’s not suitable to keep all your make-up products in the same place? Namely, beauty experts advise that it’s necessary to store some particular pieces in special places.

How To Properly Keep Your Make-Up

Liquid foundation

It’s best to keep it in the dark, like a pantry.

Loose Powder

Powder, eyeshadow, blush, and all other powder products should not be stored on bathroom shells. Mostly because the bathroom is a moist environment, which can damage these expensive makeup products.

Lipstick

If you want to preserve the color of your lipstick, keep it in the fridge.

Mascara

The mascara should stand in a cool place, but not in the fridge. Otherwise, bacteria can easily develop in the tube.

Nail Polish

Preserve your nail polish by putting it in the fridge.

Protect Yourself From Make-Up Bacteria

If you do not know how long you use a mascara or a blush, you put yourself at risk, because putting old makeup can cause an infection that can make you sick or irritate your skin.

Make-up sponge, though convenient, is not the best solution for applying liquid makeup. The reason for this is that when you put the liquid foundation on the sponge, it absorbs more than a half of the liquid, and therefore, quickly becomes so dirty that it can not be used properly anymore. Plus, along with the sponge, you end up throwing away a half a bottle of liquid foundation in the trash.

A much better solution for you is to use a foundation brush to apply your makeup. This brush gets the job done perfectly, and at the same time, it helps you save the product and use it to its maximum. I mean, we all want to save a few bucks when we can, right?!

To avoid accumulating the remnants of makeup and bacteria, you should regularly clean your brushes. There are products that are used exclusively for brush cleaning, but you can also use a shampoo and conditioner, as a much cheaper option. With clean brushes, your makeup will look much neater!
